About this site

This is mostly my professional blog, where I get my writing started.

I am always eager to make connections with others who share my passions and concerns. Drop me a line at osmond(at)appstate(dot)edu or leave a comment.

The beautiful image on my landing page is a crop of a larger painting by my friend Kim Wheaton, who owns the Pleiades Gallery in Durham, North Carolina. She Facebooked about it, “It is oil and cold wax and oil glazes. I used only a small rubber squeegee and a small palette knife. I was experimenting with texture and contrasts between thick paint (the city) and thin glazes (the substrate). And for the first time ever I did not rework/kill an interesting accident (the substrate).

Here’s to interesting accidents.
